Get your library export first

Goodreads

Open Goodreads' import/export page in a browser, sign in, and choose its library export. Save the generated library file when it is ready.

Open export page / Source guide
StoryGraph

In StoryGraph, open Manage Account, then User Export. Request and save your library CSV.

Source guide
LibraryThing

On LibraryThing's Export Books page, choose Tab-Delimited Text or JSON, then export all books or a filtered selection.

Open export page / Source guide

Keep the original downloaded file. Karatu imports a copy after you review it; it does not keep your other service in sync.

Bring an existing library

  1. From your record, choose Import books and upload a supported library export.
  2. Choose Review book for a row you need to correct, or select Skip this book.
  3. Correct or skip all rows marked as needing attention. Already listed source IDs are skipped automatically; different services can still contain the same book.
  4. Choose Add reviewed books. When the import finishes, open your record to see the added books.
Accepted library files
GoodreadsCSV
StoryGraphCSV
LibraryThingTXT, TSV, JSON or JSONL

Up to 20 MiB and 10,000 books per file. An unsupported file can be exported again in a supported format, or you can add books by hand.

If saving stops, Resume this import continues the same import. A file that cannot be read needs a new supported export. Nothing enters your record before you confirm the reviewed books.

Correct a book or edition

Open the saved book and choose Edit. Correct the details you know, including a finished date. The original logging date and earlier versions remain in private history.

Search and covers use Open Library. If its result does not match your copy, keep or enter the details you can verify.
